Record at the German Advertising Film Awards (DWP) : over 30 percent more contest submissions than in the previous year - GoSee is giving away two tickets!

And the nominees are ... It's time, the finalists of the German Advertising Film Awards (DWP) in 2016, one of the major moving image awards in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, have been chosen. Out of a total of 612 submissions, 23 works have made it onto the shortlist in the categories Advertising Film, Best Director, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects/Animation, Best Art Department, Best Composition/Sound Design, and in the new category Best of Digital Content.

In a total of three categories – Best Script, Best Editing and Best of Digital Content – the Edeka spot #heimkommen by tempomedia and Jung von Matt was nominated for the coveted Hatto trophy. The most frequently nominated production company is Trigger Happy, the most frequently nominated agency Jung von Matt. The Client:s Edeka and Hornbach are neck in neck. The organizer, German Advertising Film Academy ( DWA ), can be pleased with a significant increase of over 30 percent in submissions compared to last year.

This year, the jury president will be Heimat CEO Guido Heffels. The internationally experienced and multiple award-winning creative was personally happy to receive two prizes at last year's DWP together with Director Pep Bosch and Trigger Happy (production). The work 'Gothic Girl' for the Client: Hornbach won a Hatto in the categories Best Director and Best Script.

“The sensational increase in submissions of more than a third proves to us that the competition benefits from the introduction of the new category Best of Digital Content. Several great movies which have previously not been submitted have now found their way to us, and not just in the area of digital content, but also in categories such as Director or Camera. The submissions clearly indicate that the advertising film has done away with its classic corset and that the medium Internet has succeeded the medium TV,” says Tony Petersen, board member of the German Advertising Film Academy.

The award ceremonies will take place in the Hamburg Curio-Haus on 4 March, 2016, during which the DWA sponsorship prize will also be announced for the best film idea which has noit been produced. It will be determined that morning in a live pitch in front of the audience. In the afternoon, the DWA speed recruiting for advertising film novices will celebrate its premiere. Plan on going?
