“In a bid to raise awareness of Merino wool and its use in activewear and sports luxe apparel, The Woolmark Company has partnered with GQ to create a digital campaign and photographic portfolio featuring top athletes in the fabric from a range of designers such as Ralph Lauren...”
For ‘Wool Power’, Matthew Shave had British sport stars in front of his camera: cricket player James Anderson in Loro Piana and Michael Kors, boxer Conor Benn in Polo Ralph Lauren, cyclist Mark Cavendish in Armadillo Merino and Z Zegna, rugby player Thom Evans in Mover and Z Zegna, soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Nike, and ballet dancer Eric Underwood in Falke. Styling of the athletes was in the hands of Fashion Editor Grace Gilfeather.

Neil Gavin met up with the 58-year-old actor, who caused a dance craze in 1984 with Footloose, for MR PORTER at Soho House, New York. The term Kevin Bacon number was coined after him and stands for the smallest number of connections actors or actresses have to his films. Following the theory of the Six Degrees of Separation, it is also referred to as the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. He can now be seen in 'Patriots Day', a film about the attack on the Boston Marathon in 2013. The actor says: “The real heart of Patriots Day is this idea of love triumphing over hate. It plays very strongly in the film...” The exciting interview by Tom Chiarella can be read in MR PORTER JOURNAL, and the expressive portraits by Neil GAVIN c/o DARLING CREATIVE are available here on GoSee.
