“Without music and photography, I cannot even imagine my life,” says Steven Haberland. With his portraits, he creates visual compositions which also make the music of the pictured artists play through the eyes of the viewer. “The music and the individually different interpretations are meant to become visible in my photos.” This applies, alongside the world's star musicians portrayed by him, also to painters, choreographers, authors, and actors. After learning photography, Steven Haberland, born in Berlin in 1967, worked as a production coordinator for photo teams in Los Angeles/USA. Haberland has exhibited his portraits of artists including Al Jarreau, Lizz Wright, Kyle Eastwood, Pee Wee Ellis, Jacky Terrasson, Quincy Jones, and Ornette Coleman in various galleries in Germany, USA and Korea.
