Sometimes things don't go quite as planned, and just a few days ago, car maker HYUNDAI asked creative duo from WE! shoot it, Michael Compensis and Thomas von Salomon, to stage the new HYUNDAI I30 Wagon. The challenge was that there was only one week left from the first day of shooting to the finalization of the 10 motifs. The car was to be photographed under the strictest confidentiality in the studio, and finally presented in clean architecture. Which is why shoots took place on late shifts and the motifs were combined with CGI backplates in post production, which WE! partner Christoph Kuhn delivered over night. The result is a unique, closed spread which the duo debuts on GoSee.
From the very beginning, the two WE! shoot it founders not only see themselves as artists and photographers, but above all, as a full-service provider. In the fields of conception, storytelling and illustration, it had long made sense to team up with CD and Illustrator Thomas Hardtmann, who visualizes the ideas of the duo in sketches on paper. This not only leads to the creation of storyboards for photo spreads and films, it also unites photography and illustration, which will be shown by the duo in the next GoSee publication in their job for SEAT. As an appetizer in advance, they offer you a selection of previous works in these news, including the award-winning "Sin City" spread with the Opel CD prototypes from the 1960s.
