Arnhel’s image of ‘Richard the Postman’ features in the book – Hold Still  – published by the National Portrait Gallery. “We invited people of all ages to submit a photographic portrait, taken in a six-week period during May and June, focussed on three core themes – Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness.  Over 31,000 submissions were received from across the country, with entrants ranging from 4 to 75 years-old. From these, a panel of judges selected 100 portraits, assessing the images on the emotions and experiences they conveyed.” As part of the launch, contributors to the collection are leaving books in places that gave them hope during the lockdown. Arnhel left his copy in St.Mary’s church on Putney Bridge. The first person to pick up the book was none other than Warrick Woodhouse, one of the four founders of Getty Images!

I love to see the absurd in the everyday' - Arnhel De Serra’s work is multi-layered, being comical, disruptive, political and colourful. At heart, he is nosey and curious about other people’s business. He loves to see the absurd in the everyday. His eye is constantly roving and casting around for opportunities – why make it up when the real world is so rich with potential? See more of Arnhel’s work here
