Chivas Regal is a whisky brand manufactured by the company Chivas Brothers Ltd., since 2001 a subsidiary of the Pernod Ricard Group. The name Chivas Regal is derived from Schivas Castle on the River Ythan in the Scottish province of Aberdeenshire. Chivas Whisky garnered a reputation beyond the region ever since the Chivas Brothers became purveyors to Queen Victoria’s royal court at Balmoral Castle in 1843 – thus earning itself the nickname ‘regal’.

Chivas Regal is sold in four exquisite blends: depending on the duration of aging, there are whiskies of 12, 18, 21 and 25 years. The 21-year-old whisky was first bottled on 2 June, 1953, to honor of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
The number 21 not only signifies the number of years this whisky has been given time to age, it also stands for the 21-gun salute fired from canons for the coronation. The bottles are crafted from porcelain and available in the colors blue (sapphire), green (emerald) and red (ruby) – all precious gemstones adorning the royal crown.
