As an industrial photographer and filmmaker, WOLFRAM SCHROLL likes to work for companies both at home and abroad. For the chemical manufacturing company BAKELITE SYNTHETICS from Atlanta, Georgia, Wolfram Schroll had the pleasure of producing a short film on the topic of BRAKES.
In accordance with the European marketing measures, Wolfram Schroll produced the film presented here for the SAE International Brake Colloquium & Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas.
BAKELITE SYNTHETICS, founded in 1907 by Belgian native Leo Baekeland, produces the raw materials, i.e., chemical compounds and resins, required by modern braking systems. Whether for cars, trucks, trains or aircraft : “Our products, which are primarily based on phenolic chemistry, are used to bind, bond and shape materials for the most challenging applications : Engineered wood products that have to withstand fire and moisture … automotive and electrical components that must be lightweight yet stable in punishing environments … airplane cabin parts that are sturdy and virtually fire- and smoke-proof … they all depend on the properties and performance of Bakelite Synthetics.”
Today, 1,500 people work at twenty manufacturing sites in ten countries, helping solve the challenges of the company’s customers.
Wolfgang’s photography projects takes him to almost every industrial sector imaginable : Whether steel and metal processing, mechanical and electrical engineering, chemical plants, aerospace, or even research and medical technology. He likes taking photographs for smaller family-run companies just as much as for international corporations in Germany, throughout Europe, and occasionally a bit further away.
