#PUTINYOURVOTE - Climate Law campaign by MYCLIMATE and Jung von Matt Limmat with interactive screen installation and production by ANALOG / DIGITAL

ANALOG/DIGITAL produced the unusual campaign #PUTINYOURVOTE for Jung von Matt Limmat and MYCLIMATE.

According to MYCLIMATE, Switzerland is allegedly transferring several millions of Swiss Francs to Russia every day for oil and natural gas – and is by doing so (in)directly co-funding the war on Ukraine. Instead of being dependent upon foreign countries, a Yes to the Climate Law helps to promote innovative, renewable energy in Switzerland, and with it, the Swiss economy.

Shown on a two-meter-plus screen at Zurich’s Central Railway Station in the beginning of June was an animation of Vladimir Putin. On the monitor, at the height of the mouth, was a slot through which the vote envelopes with the Yes to the Climate Law could be inserted. A light sensor detected the insertion, upon which the animation would change to depict how Putin suddenly starts gasping for air. The animation of Vladimir Putin was filmed in a first step with a Putin double and then refined to include the physiognomic features of Putin using Deepfake AI.

“Through gamification, people are encouraged to vote who would have otherwise never gone to the polls. This is our chance, together as a democracy, to stand up to an autocrat,” says Myclimate CEO Stephen Neff.

With the campaign #putinyourvote, MYCLIMATE was able to contribute to the debate on the Climate Law across Swiss media for one week. Not only did the press react to the campaign realized by Jung von Matt Limmat but also big political players who shared the campaign on their social media channels. Following a few intensive weeks, Myclimate reached its goal: The Climate Law was passed on 18 June, 2023, with an approval rate of 59 percent.
