Lancôme, founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean, is a cosmetics brand of the French corporation L’Oréal. Meanwhile headed by the founder’s son Armand Marcel Petitjean, the family company was purchased by French cosmetics group L'Oréal in 1964 who made it part of its luxury products division.

Lancôme is among the most successful of the company’s 23 brands and sells its products today in more than 140 countries.
