The new ‘Love Life’ campaign by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) is aimed at ramping up prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Supporting this endeavor is the agency Rod Kommunikation, which was responsible for realizing the campaign together with MARKUS MUELLER and his team, who were in charge of the motifs. Production company: Shining Film. CD was Heinrich Schnorf, with art direction in the hands of Ondrej Maczko.
LOVE LIFE’s key message urges everyone: do your Safer Sex Check. According to the campaign, you’re ready for sex only after you do the check. Being ready for a sexual encounter means being aware of the protection recommendations in advance.
The goal of the awareness campaign is to stop transmission of HIV as well as the viruses Hepatitis B and C in Switzerland by 2030, we are told by Anne Lévy, Director of FOPH. It is also aimed at reducing the infection rates of other STIs by continuing to consistently apply the method: do the Safer Sex Check.
The campaign is focussed on personal, risk-based protection and testing recommendations. The tool developed for this purpose is the Safer Sex Check, which indicates individual precautions that can be taken. Although the condom still remains an important means of prevention, it is no longer the focus of the campaign.

About MARKUS MUELLER
Like few other photographers Markus Mueller knows how to use visual means – depth in particular – to create places that invite discovery. Throughout his work he rejects the obvious and embraces the freely associative.
Markus Mueller's path to photography was preceded by a detour through the humanities. He began a degree program in history and political science in his hometown of Dresden, but while slogging through dreary texts he discovered his love of images, and decided to leave university and concentrate on photography instead. He first worked as a photographer’s assistant, and later enrolled at Berlin’s Lette Verein school, earning his diploma in 2003. Since then he has lived and worked in Germany’s capital, where his office is now based.
In addition to his art photography, Markus Mueller is known for his sophisticated work in advertising and is an internationally sought-after photographer for clients such as Adidas, Volkswagen, Land Rover, O2, Hornbach, Mercedes-Benz and Panasonic. Even in his commercial projects, Markus Mueller eschews the functional and instrumental and seeks to create timeless, enduring images. He has received numerous awards for his work, including a Clio Award, an Epica Award and a WPPED Cream Award as well as prizes from ADC Germany, ADC Europe, Cannes Lions and D&AD London.
