WOLFRAM SCHROLL photographs production and the filling line for the mineral water of STIFTSQUELLE
Clear water, clear design – the award-winning mineral water of STIFTSQUELLE is something to see. All varieties of the Stiftsquelle family are available standardly in clear glass bottles. And natural mineral water must be filled into the bottles intended for consumers directly at the source.
The company Johann Spielmann GmbH in Dorsten, located on the western outskirts of Metropolis Ruhr, commissioned industrial photographer Wolfram Schroll to photograph production and the filling line of STIFTSQUELLE mineral water.
“The customer requirement was to receive exciting photographs from the filling lines and laboratories, to be presented later in the administration building as large prints. A wonderful briefing. After a short tour up front, I realized the project later in one day. I just love my job because there’s always something new to discover. And the complexity and speed of modern filling lines pose yet another, very particular challenge. Amazing!”

Lube oil rather than hair spray, blue collar rather than haute couture, preferably the smell of steel to the waft of perfume. No models, no cool locations, just raw reality. I love my work - industrial photography. And I love the noise and the heat, the weirdness of the production lines, sometimes all a bit menacing. The people, salt of the earth, uncomplicated. And the permanent challenge of getting photos out of the dark production halls and complex machinery, photos that deserve the word picture.
