The unexpected product launch video. Made with Unreal Engine. EVVA, one of the leading manufacturers for mechanical and electronic locking systems, approached us with the task of developing an unusual video for the launch of the new Akura 44 system. EVVA didn't want a classic product video but to present the benefits in a creative, artistic and unexpected way. We created an animated video that plays mainly with optical illusion and thus brings the viewer closer to the outstanding flexibility of Akura 44 in a surprising way. From concept and storyboard to post-production this video was created entirely in our studio. The workflow we used for the implementation is also unusual. The entire video (with the exception of the actor) was created in Unreal Engine, the state of the art realtime software and game engine. Thanks to the implementation in Unreal Engine, we were able to implement all the effects we used for the optical illusion directly in a single shot without having to solve them in post-production. This kept the project flexible and simplified iterations massively, thanks to tools that come from the classic game development pipeline. In real time. Thanks to the EVVA Sicherheitstechnologie GmbH team for this great project!

Maximum flexibility with a mechanical locking system – made possible by EVVA with the new Akura 44 system. Evva, a company known for numerous innovations and patents, presents with Akura 44 yet another technical milestone in the area of mechanical locking systems.
EVVA, one of the leading manufacturers of mechanical and electronic locking systems, asked post production company FRIENDLY FIRE to develop an unusual video for the market launch of the new Akura 44 system. EVVA didn’t want a classic product video but to present the advantages in a creative, artistic and unexpected way.
FRIENDLY FIRE : “We created an animated video with a playful approach using an optical illusion to give viewers a better understanding of the outstanding flexibility of Akura 44 – all with a surprising twist. From concept and storyboard to post production, this video was created entirely in our studio. Just as unusual is the workflow with which we realized it. The entire video (except for the actor) was created using Unreal Engine, the state-of-the-art, real-time software and game engine.
This enabled us to apply all of the effects we used for the optical illusion directly in a single shot, without having to find a solution in post production. This helped keep the project agile and simplified iterations enormously, thanks to tools from the classic game development platform. In real time.”
Since Evva is a pioneer when it comes to developing all of its product innovations with combinable electronic and mechanical systems, this new mechanical innovation is just as combinable with Evva’s electronic systems. “Akura 44 meets all requirements, especially in modern residential buildings. This includes flexibility, security, and a secure investment,” Alexander Scharinger, Product Manager of Akura 44 at Evva, explains.
The innovative reversible key system is manufactured on the new production line, which was built at the new EVVA plant in Vienna. This optimization enables us to increase the production capacity of the new Akura 44 cylinders enormously from now on. Stefan Ehrlich-Adám, CEO of the Evva Group : “Thanks to the expansion of our company premises, we now finally have the capacity to adequately meet the demand.” Production of the new system is fast, efficient and cost-optimized, which also ensures an excellent price-performance ratio. Combined with its easy installation due to the completely new modular system with fewer components for different lengths, Akura 44 is almost unbeatable, especially in precisely calculated residential buildings.
FRIENDLY FIRE : “Thanks to the EVVA Sicherheitstechnologie GmbH team for this great project!”
