Illustrator Stefanie HILGARTH has just successfully concluded her project of the year ‘Show Power Plant Wienerbruck’ with the EVN. We have a small representative glimpse at the painted facade, the presentation boards and the informational illustrations explaining the technical details of the turbines and generation of electricity here for you on GoSee.
The power plant was originally built to provide electricity for the Mariazella Railway on the centuries-old routes of the forest workers. The project is meant to shape and refresh the region of the Ötscher-Törmäuer nature park. “We congratulate Stefanie Hilgarth on this comprehensive exhibition design together with the EVN and the architect team.” Caroline Seidler.
The Wienerbruck Power Plant is a storage power plant of the EVN, located in Annaberg in the southern part of Lower Austria. It was put into operation in 1910 for the particular purpose of generating electricity to power the Mariazella Railway and is today the oldest power plant in Lower Austria. Since 2015, the historical building has been open for tours with an exhibition in the gallery of the machinery hall.
The company EVN AG, listed on the stock exchange, is the largest electricity, gas and heat supplier in Lower Austria and an important supplier of electricity in Macedonia and Bulgaria with headquarters in Maria Enzersdorf. The stock corporation is majority-owned by the state of Lower Austria to this day.
