The French manufacturer of high fashion items made from cashmere, ÉRIC BOMPARD SA, has been helmed by Barbara Werschine as CEO since 2020. A former computer technician, Éric Bompard founded the company in 1984 after traveling to Asia where he encountered cashmere weaving for the first time.
The new F/W 23/24 campaign for the luxury label was photographed by Edgar Berg, and it was post-produced by the fashion and beauty specialists from ONE HUNDRED BERLIN.
In 2018, Xavier Marie, founder of Maisons du Monde, acquired the label together with Apax Partners and BPI France. Personally, Barbara Werschine has plenty of experience in the development of brands in the luxury goods market to show for. The former Vice President of Zadig & Voltaire, has worked previously for the houses Louis Vuitton, Celine and Hermès.
“Bompard pullovers are designed in France and manufactured in Inner Mongolia, where the goats are raised under ideal climatic conditions similar to their natural habitat to ensure the incomparable quality of the fibers of their fleece. Our goal is the 100% certification and transparency of our production process by 2025. This includes providing detailed information on our supply chain. Also by that time, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint by favoring transport by ship over air freight. We have also initiated a Made in France production process and are active in the area of social reintegration through our partnership with Les Résilientes x Emmaüs Alternatives, to promote upcycling and the circular economy.” Éric Bompard.
Today, the cashmere label has more than 65 sales outlets in six European countries – the majority of which are in France. The CEO of Eric Bompard wants to expand the network of the brand internationally, with a particular focus on London and Scandinavia.
