‘AR’ – the continued tree series by ANKE LUCKMANN shows scars in the bark of these impressive towering plants in Denmark and the Sequoia National Park in California

Anke LUCKMANN deals, in addition to her commercial photography, with trees time and again. Which is why hardly a production passes where Anke doesn’t take a look at the landscapes and forests around her. She presents us her new series ‘AR’ here on GoSee.

“AR means scar in Danish. This series of tree trunks was taken in Denmark and in the Sequoia National Park in California before the big fire came. Showing the ‘skin’ of the trees – with messages and drawings of human beings … mostly hearts and initials … but we need to keep in mind that we can hurt the tree if we carve to deep into the bark,” Anke tells GoSee.
