Dive & Madrine, the exhibition for the Venice International Film Festival 2024, honors the remarkable contributions of women in Italian cinema and fashion, both past and present.
For the ‘Dive & Madrine’ exhibition, eight divas of the past were reinterpreted by eight contemporary actresses. What do they have in common? All eight are former patrons of the Venice Film Festival – and thanks to their clothing, they have given important Italian fashion houses a voice: Giorgio Armani, Armani Privé, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Alberta Ferretti, Versace, and N21 by Alessandro dell’Acqua.
The photo exhibition – curated by the Undersecretary of State for Culture Lucia Borgonzoni and Chiara Sbarigia, President of Cinecittà, and the project coordinator Marvi De Angelis from the Marver agency – presented eight Italian divas of the past alongside many new stars of today.
