With his impressive series "Nothing Personal," photographer Nikita Teryoshin offers a sharp insight into the behind-the-scenes world of the global arms trade. The exhibition, part of the "European Month of Photography 2025" in Berlin, reveals the absurdity and cruelty of the war machine, staged for an elite of heads of state, generals, and dealers. Teryoshin captures the apparent normality of a war-related "back office," where the brutal realities of war are hidden behind facades of wealth, wine, and finger food. The opening reception will be on March 1, 2025, from 6 to 9 pm, and the exhibition will run from March 2 to May 4, 2025.
In the commercial sector, Nikita Teryoshin is represented by Tatjana Bilger c/o SOOTHING SHADE. At the UPDATE SALON in Berlin, she will present more exciting works by Nikita, which, through his unique perspective, blur the boundaries between art and commercial photography.
About Nikita Teryoshin: Nikita Teryoshin (born 1986, Leningrad, former USSR) lives and works in Berlin. At the age of 13, his family moved to Dortmund. As a child, he was fascinated by his father’s world, a theater and television set designer, which was filled with props and mysterious objects. These impressions shaped Teryoshin’s interest in "backstages" – the often invisible worlds orchestrated by media, politics, or industry. He began his photographic journey in documentary photography and "everyday horror," critically exploring human life. His project "Nothing Personal" (2016–2024) on the global arms trade won the World Press Photo 2020 award and has been exhibited and published worldwide. His works have been featured in leading international media such as ZEIT, Stern, Spiegel, New Yorker, NYT, GQ, 11Freunde, and Bloomberg. In 2024, he published his first monograph "Nothing Personal – The Back Office of War" with GOST Books. Nikita is also a co-founder of the Burn My Eye Photography Collective and has run his own publishing house, pupupublishing, since 2020.
