Casey Spooner, an American and Berliner by residency, is running for President. He is putting on a show for his campaign as a performance artist at Berlin’s Wilhelm Hallen. GQ met up with Casey. In the interview, he talks about his trajectory as a musician and artist, sexualization of the Western world, and why the U.S. campaign trail feels more like show business than politics. Casey Spooner, born in 1970 in Athens, Georgia, is known for his innovative blend of music, performance, and visual art. Best known as the co-founder of the electroclash duo Fischerspooner, he has influenced the art scene with significant works exhibited at MoMA and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
