For COSAS MAG, Fredrik Skogkvist photographed Nina Gualinga, an Ecuadorian climate justice champion and indigenous rights activist. She has spent most of her life advocating for better environmental protection of the Ecuadorian Amazon and the inhabitant wildlife as well as the people who are dependent on this environment.
Plus, Nina is on the jury of the 2024 Global Open Call of @photovogue. “As an indigenous storyteller, I want to encourage photographers and creatives from marginalized communities to submit their work. It is high time for the stories of historically invisible bodies – human and nonhuman – to finally be seen and told.”
