Ronald DICK photographed Lena Klenke for FRÄULEIN MAGAZINE. Since 2019, the actress has appeared in the Netflix production ‘How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)’ and has since also played roles in coming-of-age dramas such as ‘Cocoon’ (2020) or ‘The Silent Revolution’ (2018). She will soon play the role of legendary tennis player Steffi Graf in the film ‘Perfect Match’, which will be shown on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 and tells the love story of Graf and her husband Andre Agassi.
The interview in FRÄULEIN MAGAZINE : CAROLIN DESIREE BECKER spoke with Lena about her individual identity as an actress, her mental health and her thoughts on the future – with an exciting reveal regarding her next role.
Lena, how have the last weeks been for you? I heard you were in Rome and played a lot of tennis…
Yes, I was in Rome all summer, filming a new movie in which I play Steffi Graf. It was really hot, but so much fun. So yes, lots of tennis, lots of sweat, lots of work – but in this beautiful city that stole my heart.
You are meanwhile a force to be reckoned with in the German acting scene. Looking at the big picture in terms of acting : What are the hallmarks of good acting today in your opinion? And what are personally the greatest challenges for you?
Wow, that is really interesting. Good acting, in my opinion, is something personal, but when I watch a movie and get completely drawn into the story, forget everything around me, and feel everything the characters are going through, then that for me is good acting. The challenges are constantly changing, but the greatest challenge is to stay true to yourself and pursue your goal persistently without being distracted by what everybody else is doing, while simply trusting in the process you are a part of.
