“One of the hallmarks of Scandinavian design is its sense of timelessness and ability to assimilate easily with other styles and periods while retaining its distinctive purity and aura of calm assurance. Even in the unique surroundings of the house created by Danish sculptor Rikard Axel Poulsen (1887-1972). Furniture, lighting and homeware by contemporary designers exhibit their serene poise, the avant-garde flanked by the archaic to create layers of history. Built in 1918, the house was inspired by Poulsen’s travels around southern Europe, and his affinity for Greek and Roman antiquities resulted in furniture and interiors specially created for the house.” (ARK JOURNAL)
