‘Lost desire for things past’ PATRICK SCHWALB stages model Sanny Liriano in an artistic carpenter’s workshop for ACHTUNG MODE

For fashion magazine ACHTUNG MODE from Berlin, Patrick staged the story ‘Lost desire for things past - Biedermeier vs. the new modern age.’ It is about time changing before and during the Corona pandemic. The story was realized in an old brick manufacturing facility in northern Germany which today houses an artistic carpenter’s workshop. The location served as the perfect setting for the visual juxtaposition of old and new.

We read on ACHTUNG : “Photographer Patrick Schwalb dedicates his work to precisely this feeling in his photo series in an attempt to juxtapose old and new in a single space. Also representing the spirit of new in what is old is the styling by Tu Anh, who exclusively chose fashion in modern shades of white for this particular location. Because nothing epitomizes the desire for the new in the old as much as fashion – always in search of a new trend in the endless cycle of revivals of fashion fads of the distant past. Nobody knows the ambivalent wish for something new in what is old quite like designers and creatives. Schwalb says : “It is creativity that leads us to something new.”
