Paris is where trends are born. From high fashion to underground – the city continues to set new benchmarks season for season. The spread ‘Underground Exposure’ presented here whisks you away to the area all around the Strasbourg St. Denis neighborhood, a vibrant microcosm nestled between the railway stations Republique, Gare du Nord and at the edge of the uber-hip & happening 3rd arrondissement.
It was photographed by BENJAMIN AUDOUR for KUNST magazine with stylist Marie Revelut. Model Alina Permiakova was staged with an out-of-this-world – but equally, as the title of the spread suggests, underground look in the Métro station of the same name. This time, believe it or not, for once without a strike.
Fun fact: The Boulevard Saint-Denis, with a length of only 210m, is the shortest section of the Grand Boulevards. It is named after the triumphal arch Porte Saint-Denis located at its eastern-most end on the site of the former town gate. Through this gate, the street led to the suburb Saint-Denis, the burial grounds of several Frankish and French Kings.
In December 2017, KUNST was founded on a cold winter day in Brooklyn, NY, by fashion photographer Erika Astrid. It was born out of a need for an artist platform that is less about designers/brands and more focused on artists and creators.
