Milka Loff Fernandes is not only active in front of the camera, but is also a passionate advocate for diversity and equal opportunities away from the spotlight. In this Comma interview, she explains why it is crucial to continue working towards a just future and advancing the topic of female empowerment.
Milka Loff Fernandes was born in Hamburg in 1980 to Cape Verdean parents. She became known nationwide as a presenter on the music channel VIVA.
International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8th. It originated as an initiative of socialist organizations in the pre-World War I era in the fight for equal rights, women's suffrage, and the emancipation of working women.
On March 8th, 2025, the UN invited the entire world to celebrate International Women's Day under the motto "For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."
