OFFENBLENDE presents its new fashion film ‘'Where it began, was it spring? The X Files’ here on GoSee : “The fashion film by Director Daniel LATHWESEN appeared as an editorial for international fashion magazine FRENCH FRIES from Italy. It shows a dimension of reality reminiscent of the genre of science fiction flicks which leave no viewer untouched. Through an interplay of zoomed shots and holographic lights, models become active participants in the world in which they find themselves. The focus is on their connection – a union of two bodies which remain attached to the Earth despite the arrival of unknown elements, and merge into a single light. A light which characterizes the arrival of something new. A light which unites all human beings. ‘X Files’ goes to show just how touching and emotionally charged the storytelling of a fashion film can be,” OFFENBLENDE tells us.
Daniel Lathwesen was supported by DOP Bastian Kempf and VFX expert Martin Krupinski. By means of visual effects, color grading, title & sound design, he gave the film its vintage look. Responsible for the extravagant style of models Stine and Charlotte were OFFENBLENDE make-up artist Laure Tinette and designer Flora Miranda from Antwerp. It was filmed in the Lieberose desert just outside of Berlin – also known as Little Siberia – the largest desert in Germany, which resulted from a forest fire in 1942.
