“I was commissioned by German soccer team Borussia Dortmund to create these match posters for their Champions League final against Real Madrid,” Budapest resident LEHEL KOVÁCS c/o 2AGENTEN tells us.
We also present you the copycat motif, an alternative version of the Monaco vs. Nice match poster from last year and a possible cover idea for a fictive THE BUDAPESTER Magazine. “A project that celebrates 150 years of the unified Budapest, with 151 artists illustrating a milestone event from this timeline. All coming together as powerful covers showing what it would be like if Budapest had a magazine like the @newyorkermag. My illustration is about the building process of the iconic Hotel Budapest, which is more widely known as the Körszálló (Circle Hotel), set in 1966 and designed by György Szrogh.”
A trained window dresser with a background in graphic design, Lehel’s illustrations catch the eye, are colorful and cheerful. His hand-drawn lines are usually combined with digitally created colors, and he also creates silk screen prints.
His client list includes Rolling Stone, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Facebook, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, Toronto Life, The New Yorker, The Sydney Opera House, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, 2Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Playboy, The Globe and Mail, Baltimore Magazine, Mongrel Magazine, Nuvo Magazine, J'N'C Magazine, Annabelle, Die Welt, DBB, Jamie Magazine…. And more is available via 2AGENTEN.
