From his base in Madrid, illustrator Nicolás AZNAREZ c/o CAROLINESIEDLER.COM has carved out quite a niche for himself with his work in the German speaking region. His style is rough with edges, frontal and dense. His artwork is reminiscent of Spanish panel paintings, its composition dense and vividly colored. Leaving little room yet still so much open.
Quite the contrary can be said about his simplistic illustrations on daily headlines, which leave space to take root. They spark the imagination, providing food for thought on complex topics, at times tongue-in-cheek, or naive, sometimes even romantic or deeply symbolic.
