Why not present food differently, instead of only on plates and wood surfaces? Created together with foodstylist Guido Gravelius on colorful powdery surfaces were fascinating food impressions. The intricately staged stills look like little meteorite craters with these fine powder textures – Powder Press by Kai STIEPEL c/o KELLY KELLERHOFF.
“My vision of authentic still life photography is more than the depiction of objects,” says the photographer with a studio in Munich. Kai Stiepel started out as a still life photographer and shortly thereafter placed his focus on food photography. He has meanwhile also taken up the production of sophisticated videos. His studio is equipped with a large kitchen, extensive props and cutting-edge equipment. The Wholesale Market Munich is only 100 meters away and allows quick access to fresh ingredients. The temperatures in the basement are the same all year round – perfect for food.
