F*#k genres, we create moods. - AVENGER PHOTOGRAPHERS are delighted to welcome creative NEW ENTRIES : Ekaterina and Liam are the duo CRPTC CHILD. They are audio-visual artists highly active in the world of photography, as DOPs, directors, in post production and music. Their specialty: commercials in the areas of beauty, fashion and accessories.
Ekaterina is meticulous when it comes to details, both on set and in post production. Her work consists of capturing the atmosphere on set and navigating the models: Her artistic background is inspired by the Old Masters, and her style is classic, marked by tradition and minimalism.
“We are artists who create audio and visual art. A photography/directing and video editing duo, specializing at the moment in short-form commercials with an emphasis on fashion, beauty and accessories. Our concept is a combination of art, design and sound accuracy. We don’t simply put sound on images or images on sounds but consider the two as a whole set in relation to each other. Our ethic is a symbiotic balance between nature and humanity, the feminine and masculine energies are what our work is all about.” Ekaterina Kashtanova.
Shaped by his training in graphic design and the many videos he made in the 90s, Liam keeps a keen eye on composition and the relationship of the images to one another. His style is precise, sporty and inspired by comic book culture. They are creative problem solvers and always see the big picture.
“We first crossed paths at university thirteen years ago. It was during film school that we realized we not only shared the same cinematic vision but also the same motives and intentions. After a few years of living together and working in the advertising industry, CRPTC CHILD was born. We aim to achieve aesthetic beauty and harmony, regardless of the genre. We are quite aware of the fact that our environment is a gray scale. Because nothing has ever really been portrayed in black and white. And we don’t judge half-truths, because we’ve never found anything to be either right or wrong. It’s the combination and choice of skills that makes each project feel original. When we merge these individual skills, the result is somewhat unexpected. Like that of an unanticipated child.” Liam Back.
