International Photographer Christian Angerer has won gold and been chosen by an international jury as Photographer of the Year in Germany. The cinematic star photographer has won a total of 59 awards this year – all in the categories: Advertising Beauty, Advertising Fashion, Advertising Portrait, Fine Art Portrait, People Portrait, Editorial, and Lifestyle.
Christian is usually on the go, making use of the most extraordinary locations: New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, Barcelona, Venice, Formentera, and Cape Town are where the Munich native spends most of his time on set.
His passion for capturing the special character of each location can be seen throughout his multifaceted portfolio. How do you choose your projects? Christian : I choose projects that interest me and I think will be fun. A good team and storytelling play an important role. Money is secondary.
Can you please describe your creative process for us? I work on photo shoots just like I would on a movie. With synopsis, storyboards, sketches, the appropriate props, locations, and clothing. I am part of the entire process.
Christian started working in the area of cinematic photography three years ago. At that same time, he also opened his Instagram account, where his reels are meanwhile viewed and forwarded by millions – growing his fan base to around 140,000 followers in that short time.
