Monday, the day of mishaps… – photographer MARKUS MÜLLER presents you his new portfolio series on GoSee.News

Monday, the day of mishaps – is the title of the new personal work by photographer Markus Müller. Because, as much as Mondays are good for a surprise, all the more can they also remind us that life doesn’t necessarily always go according to plan. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. Except perhaps sometimes.

This is what azubiplaner.de has to say about it : “Mishaps, accidents and defective productions are nothing out of the ordinary on this particular day. Scientists have found out that the concentration of the workforce on Mondays does in fact leave a lot to be desired. Our sleep schedule changes over the weekend, the consequence of which is that we are tired – so carelessness and mistakes are inevitable.

In 2015, more than 20,000 accidents happened at work or on the way to the place of work in Germany on a Monday, according to reports made to the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Health Services and Welfare Care. More than on any other workday of the week…”

Markus Müller, a native of Dresden who is now at home in Berlin, is not only known for his art photography, but also for his sophisticated work for the advertising industry or as an internationally sought-after photographer for clients such as Adidas, Volkswagen, Land Rover, O2, Hornbach, Mercedes-Benz, Walt Disney, Carlsberg or even Prime Video.

About MARKUS MUELLER
Like few other photographers Markus Mueller knows how to use visual means – depth in particular – to create places that invite discovery. Throughout his work he rejects the obvious and embraces the freely associative.

Markus Mueller's path to photography was preceded by a detour through the humanities. He began a degree program in history and political science in his hometown of Dresden, but while slogging through dreary texts he discovered his love of images, and decided to leave university and concentrate on photography instead. He first worked as a photographer’s assistant, and later enrolled at Berlin’s Lette Verein school, earning his diploma in 2003. Since then he has lived and worked in Germany’s capital, where his office is now based.

In addition to his art photography, Markus Mueller is known for his sophisticated work in advertising and is an internationally sought-after photographer for clients such as Adidas, Volkswagen, Land Rover, O2, Hornbach, Mercedes-Benz and Panasonic. Even in his commercial projects, Markus Mueller eschews the functional and instrumental and seeks to create timeless, enduring images. He has received numerous awards for his work, including a Clio Award, an Epica Award and a WPPED Cream Award as well as prizes from ADC Germany, ADC Europe, Cannes Lions and D&AD London.
