French company Recylex Group is in the recycling business and specializes in metals. For the new international website and photo pool, the company commissioned industrial photographer WOLFRAM SCHROLL. Shoots took place in four locations which were previously scouted.
Wolfram tells us: “Recycling metals is nothing for sensitive hands; it’s rough, and it’s hot. It entails photographing all day wearing a gas mask. You can’t even see through the viewfinder – oops. In addition to recycling, Recylex also processes special metals such as gallium and germanium. It’s a bit quieter in these factories; workers almost tip-toe through the production facilities because walking heavily would disturb the molecular processes.
By chance, I photographed at almost the same time for a company in the area of urban mining, for the young company Duesenfeld. This extremely committed team develops processes and plants for recycling lithium ion batteries. An exciting topic, super current, with all the big companies constantly coming and going. And I was particularly pleased that I was able to support the company with photos and film from the beginning.”
