Jumping around in puddles might be fun for kids – but laying in a giant puddle and being drenched in water by a Porsche is totally next level. Transportation photographer Steffen JAHN slipped into his sailing duds, waterproofed his camera and got wet and wild on a hot summer day. The result : dramatic photos of the Wet Mode for a big splash – check ! With post production in the hands of Tom Stein / 617 digital.

“The vehicle uses miniature microphones in the front wheel arches to detect a wet road and warns the driver about the risk of aquaplaning. Wet Mode is then activated via the Drive Mode button on the steering wheel. In Wet Mode, the response behavior of the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) systems is preconditioned,” instructor Gina Jobes tells us how the Wet Mode in the Porsche 911 works, pointing to the wet sliding surface of the Hockenheimring PEC.
