JEFF LUDES photographs the eye-catching campaign ‘Open New Doors’ for the innovative car sharing service TURO

JEFF LUDES was commissioned to realize this unique project for TURO, the equally innovative and successful car sharing service. To underscore the claim ‘Open New Doors’, the transportation photographer from Los Angeles created an impressive series, in which a whole new world exists – the doors to which are opened only through the vehicle. Post was taken care of by Mainworks, and production was in the hands of SixTwentySix.

“The smooth results are not only thanks to great retouching, but also good planning on set, to match the angle and integrate lighting. Once the shoot was wrapped up, I worked closely with post production studio Mainworks to create a result that’s both fantastical and natural.” JEFF LUDES tells GoSee.

For everyone looking for an affordable alternative to a rental car, TURO car sharing is the right choice. Since most vehicles do nothing more than stand around 95 percent of the day, the American car sharing service based in San Francisco has taken up the mission of earning private car owners a lot of money while saving resources. The exemplary service is provided in the US, London, and now, completely new, also in Australia.

Unlike conventional car rental companies, Turo does not own or maintain vehicles. The company provides a platform on which car owners can rent their vehicles. People who want to rent their cars can register their vehicles online so that other Turo members can book them. The car owner specifies when and where the car will be available. A Turo member, who would like to book a car, reserves a specific time period for the vehicle online. Turo receives 10 to 40 percent of the rental fees, depending on the insurance coverage the vehicle offers.

Jeff Ludes has been photographing cars for more than fifteen years – from precisely planned CGI and seamless composite images, to loose, handheld shooting. But Jeff’s favorite kind of shoot is not based on the subject, but rather on the team behind the scenes – great relationships with a creative and collaborative team are the most important part of the job is what he firmly believes.
