Per Appelgren photographs the CASABLANCA PARIS Pre-Fall ’26 Campaign

For the new Casablanca Pre-Fall 2026 collection, the brand travels to Egypt, diving deep into a visual world shaped by mythology, history, astronomy and cinematic fantasy. The campaign was photographed by Per Appelgren, who once again translates Casablanca’s signature blend of luxury, escapism and contemporary elegance into dreamlike imagery.

“Super excited and grateful to have worked on this surrealistic campaign together with such an amazing crew!🙏🏻” Per Appelgren

The campaign was created on a virtual production stage where physical set elements merge seamlessly with digital landscapes. Sand dunes, monumental architecture and star-filled night skies create a surreal atmosphere inspired by cinematic references such as Death on the Nile and The Prince of Egypt. Rather than aiming for historical reconstruction, Casablanca presents a stylized interpretation of Egypt somewhere between pop culture, travel fantasy and luxurious romance.

The collection itself also draws on Egyptian symbolism: hieroglyphs and graphic patterns blend with Casablanca’s signature color gradients. The palette evokes terracotta tones, North African desert landscapes and classic tennis courts, complemented by crisp whites and soft pastel accents.

Creative Director Charaf Tajer on the inspiration behind the Pre-Fall collection: “I fell in love with Cairo, a city where every street feels like a cinema set. I loved how all its different layers live together, from Ancient Egypt to the romance of Arab movies and the colonial architecture. It is truly fascinating to me, and I can easily draw a parallel between Cairo and Casablanca.”

It is exactly within this tension between fashion imagery, cinema and luxurious travel fantasy that Per Appelgren’s new campaign unfolds.

Creative Class of '26 - Per Appelgren photographs the Cosmopolitan Netherlands cover story featuring singer Zara Larsson

Zara Larsson is the cover star of the current Cosmopolitan Netherlands Creativity Issue, photographed by PER APPELGREN. In the accompanying interview, the Swedish pop artist reflects on her journey from international hits to personal growth, as well as her creative process and self-determined approach to style.

With Never Ending Summer, Per Appelgren captures Zara Larsson’s energy and presence in a contemporary visual language that seamlessly blends editorial with a distinct pop attitude.

“We shot the story during her European tour, at her Amsterdam stop in the Allard Studios. Timing was tight, as Zara had both the show and multiple press commitments that day – so we had just under four hours to capture eight looks. But Zara was incredibly easygoing and highly professional, which made the whole process very smooth – we wrapped the entire shoot faster than expected,” says Per Appelgren to gosee.news.

Her latest project is titled Midnight Sun, with an R&B version of the title track already released. Zara Larsson is currently on her global Midnight Sun Tour, with stops in Mexico, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Per Appelgren photographs and films the 'colors by OCCHIO' campaign for OCCHIO

A capsule collection made for you – Per Appelgren photographed the 'colors by OCCHIO' campaign for the lighting manufacturer OCCHIO and also directed the campaign video shown here.

The campaign promotes the new color palette of the lighting series: six newly curated colors expand Occhio's design spectrum. All 'colors by Occhio' lights are finished using an elaborate wet-paint process. The result is exceptional color depth, a flawless surface, and a distinctive look. Finely tuned metallic particles in the paint create vibrant reflections and exceptional brilliance.

"With colors by Occhio, light becomes a stage for individual personality. Expressive colored surfaces open up a new dimension of design and blend harmoniously into modern interior styles - from a subtle accent in sabbia to an expressive rosso as a powerful statement," OCCHIO states.

The collaboration between the advertising agency Martin et Karczinski and Occhio has existed for many years. Valerie von Hummel and Lena Rüdiger closely oversaw the project for Occhio. On the agency side, Christopher Schmid, a partner at Martin et Karczinski, managed the project at the management level and served as the main contact person for Occhio. Dominik Seeger was responsible for the campaign's implementation within the agency team.

Occhio (Italian for "eye") is a German design company specializing in modular lighting systems that enjoys global success. Founded in Munich in 1999 by Axel Meise, Occhio is now one of the most innovative and fastest-growing companies in its sector, having evolved from a German design icon to an international lifestyle brand in the luxury segment.

"We bring the culture of light to people. Our light isn't meant to illuminate a room, but to make a living space glow." Axel Meise, Founder and Chief Designer of Occhio.

The promise: 'Using state-of-the-art LED technology, Occhio luminaires not only make colors shine like in nature, but also provide the best light for your workplace or home. Our benchmark is natural sunlight and the diverse lighting moods it can create.'

Occhio stands for precise lighting artistry with innovative design and manufactures modular luminaire and spotlight systems for residential and commercial spaces and buildings. This includes ceiling, room, pendant, and arc lamps, as well as floor lamps. The luminaires feature adjustable color temperature and can be controlled via Bluetooth using an app, a remote control, or gesture control.
