Véhicule Utilitaire – SÉBASTIEN STAUB photographs the RENAULT VU campaign in Toulouse

School transportation, ambulances, shuttles, … RENAULT can do it all thanks to its versatility. The latest campaign for these véhicules utilitaires or VUs, which is French for utility vehicles, was photographed by SÉBASTIEN STAUB in Toulouse.

The goal was to convey the range of possibilities emotionally and graphically through the imagery because the VUs are much more than a mere means of transportation – they save lives, they are business partners and a rolling safe space for your children.

Located in Toulouse, by the way, is the new Renault software factory founded in 2020, bringing together the group’s software skills and expertise – with a focus on nothing less than the technological transformation of the Renault Group to prepare for the challenges of the future of mobility in the best possible way. More than 600 engineers work at this innovation center.

Among the RENAULT brands in 2023 are Alpine, Renault, Dacia and Lada. Since 2018, Groupe Renault has been collaborating with Nissan Motor Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation – and part of this Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance are the brands Nissan and Mitsubishi plus also Infiniti.

Go break it in – SÉBASTIEN STAUB photographs the new FORD RANGER for the agency AMV BBDO London

For the pickup truck built by American carmaker Ford Motor Company – the legendary FORD RANGER – SÉBASTIEN STAUB photographed the campaign artwork presented here on commission for the agency AMV BBDO London. The all-new model has big shoes to fill : After all, its predecessor has been Europe’s best-selling pickup for eight consecutive years.

Go Break It In’ – The idea behind the campaign is that, like a new pair of jeans, a boxfresh Ranger needs to be broken in, or rather ‘driven in’, before it feels just right.

AMV BBDO creatives David Westland and Jeremy Tribe, responsible for the campaign, tell us : “Our audience are the opposite of posers. They love the Ranger for its toughness and durability, like a battered pair of jeans. Ford were fully on board with us and the director Marcus Söderlund launching their brand-new model by scratching it, scraping it and generally giving it a real beating.”

The print and digital OOH campaign presents marvelous muddy shots photographed by Sébastien Staub. The motifs will be shown in more than twenty markets over the next twelve months.

By the way, the Ranger was tested by Euro NCAP at the end of 2022 to assess vehicle safety. It received five of the five possible stars.

Ford Motor Co.’s Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria, South Africa, has already begun production of the new generation of Ranger pickup truck models – with an investment of $1.05 billion into the expansion and modernization of production capacity. Delivery of first vehicles to customers is planned for late spring 2023.
