Los Angeles-based ethereal artist Nina Anto unveils 'Show Me Your Scars'.
Following a recent relocation from London to Los Angeles, a performance at LA-based radio dublab and gaining support from KCRW as well as national media outlets in Poland (TVN24, O2, Onet) for her song ‘Necrosis’, Warsaw-born LA-based singer-songwriter Nina Anto returns with the single ‘Show Me Your Scars’.
Inspired by the likes of Moses Sumney, Sampha or James Blake, ‘Show Me Your Scars’ showcases Nina Anto’s ethereal & deep vocals intertwined with gentle piano notes complimented by delicate strings in the background. Leaning towards candid verses with an outstanding positive message and a swift feature by American rapper Danny Clvrk, Nina Anto unfolds a kaleidoscopic soundscape where soft heartbeats tangle with words flowing effortlessly.
Exploring the complexity of relationships, Nina Anto is more interested in the authenticity of a person. Inspired by her encounter with her neighbor who often only showed their positive and happy side to her, Nina Anto reassures it’s ok to be vulnerable while surrounded by the right people.
Adding a second layer to this, she explains: “I had a conversation with Danny about what the song meant to me, and he admitted it was hard for him to be vulnerable because of how society sees men. Wanting to break the pattern, I invited Danny to have a featured rap verse on the song, a way for him to express his thoughts and feelings, and hopefully, also a way to start the conversation.”
